You don’t have to go far from our base for some of the best in the Highlands
When you come to OutThere Campers to pick up your campervan and begin your very own adventure, you’ll soon see what a beautiful part of the country we’re located in. Nairn is an enviable position, part of the Scottish Highlands we’re also right next to the sea, on the edge of the Moray Firth. And while we love to encourage people to get on the open road and discover Scotland for themselves, we’re also really proud of this historic area so we’d recommend taking time at either end of your trip to get in about our stomping ground.

While in Nairn you can explore our beautiful beaches or if you are here in August, you could catch our annual Highland Games
Cullen Beach: we don’t think this beach is just picturesque, we think it’s perfect. Not only a feast for the eyes it’s a fantastic beach to explore with its distinctive rock formations stretching west from the old harbour for about a mile. When the tide is out there are rock pools a plenty to investigate – or just take a walk along these magical sands, where you feel like you’re a million miles away from it all.Moray Firth & Nairn
Even if history isn’t normally your bag, it’s impossible to visit this part of the world and avoid references to Culloden – and for good reason. In 1746 over 1,500 Jacobites were killed in the battle on Culloden Moor, just outside Inverness. Visit the Culloden Battlefield and Visitor Centre and exhibition to find out more about the story that forms such a key part of Scottish history.
On the other side of Inverness is one of our all time favourite places, the Dolphins and Seals of the Moray Firth Visitor Centre. Here, you are treated to one of the best views of the Moray Firth – and on top of that you’re likely to see the only resident population of dolphins in the North Sea. The centre regularly also sees the world’s largest bottlenose dolphin and you can even listen in to underwater sounds to hear the dolphins and seals.
